In 2007, we are introducing a newsletter for the Optoelectronics Center. This is to provide each one of us with an opportunity to participate and be more aware of the research around the globe and in the Center. Hopefully, it will be a platform to share our views and research. It includes various features like Optics world Snippets, which includes interesting news from around the globes, Review article from one of our faculty or students, an outline of an Instrument at center, a profile of a research group at center, sketch of a leading Optics Company along with table of upcoming events and deadlines. It needs an active participation from each member of the center in terms of sending us the materials you wish to share. Any news or interesting piece of article on research can be submitted for optics news snippets. The idea behind the section on review article in the Newsletter is to take background material that faculty or others might generate as a matter of course for proposals and give them the Newsletter as an outlet to make it available to a wider audience. It need not be very exhaustive. It will be provide with all of us with an opportunity to learn and know the latest in research among various fields. A list of latest accepted or published papers in Journals is also included.  The first issue is meant to be just a template to be shared and make you all part of the vision.

Hopefully, you will find it useful and will submit research articles or interesting research news, abstract of your latest publications or a short profile of your research group.
